What we will learn in this presentation or interview

I’ve spent four decades in the field of early childhood education, learning all about how kids grow, learn, play, and reach their fullest potential. I’ve done a lot of reading, reviewed a lot of research, and listened to a lot of stories from teachers and parents. I can tell you that never in history has parenting been more challenging – or so much information been available to sort through and try to understand. Sadly, in my professional opinion, much of the advice many parents are getting is just plain false. I know what the research tells us, and I know what child development dictates. I’d like to help you understand what you really should and shouldn’t do as a parent to help your child grow and thrive!

What we will learn in this presentation or interview

There may be no better time to examine how you want to reenter the world and deepen your intimacy as a family than in this period of a shake-up in which so much of our daily lives have changed. As we re-enter schools, workplaces, camps, and travel, we have an opportunity to examine how this time of trial has altered the way we view the world and ourselves. After all, crisis precedes transformation. In this conversation, we’ll discuss how we might consider our deepest values as a family and how we can align our words, actions, and decisions with the ways in which we interact and contribute. As we begin to remove our masks, we can face our community and the larger world with clarity about our own identity and belonging and also the agency that we are capable of contributing to positive change.
